What General Pest Control Covers

Last updated: October 2026

Our General Pest Control work addresses common pest concerns identified during the inspection and described in your service proposal. Depending on the written scope, work may include inspection, targeted treatment, and practical recommendations for reducing pest access or attractants.

The proposal identifies the pests, areas, and methods included. Exclusions may include wildlife, structural repairs, cleanup, and specialized treatments not listed in that agreement; those require a separate estimate and your approval.

Pesticides are used only as allowed by their labels and applicable law, including the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act and Maine’s Pesticide Control Act, 22 M.R.S. chapter 258-A. Applicators must meet Maine licensing requirements under 22 M.R.S.

§ 1471-D, and work follows Maine Board of Pesticides Control Rules, Chapter 10. We handle pesticide containers according to Board guidance and applicable disposal rules.

Hazardous-waste requirements under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act apply when the material and circumstances qualify. We follow applicable agency guidance, including from the Maine DEP and Maine DACF; Maine CDC guidance may be relevant to public-health concerns.

Appointment Changes and Cancellations

Appointments are arranged with you by phone, email, or another agreed method. We confirm the service window and any preparation or access instructions before the visit.

Please make sure an adult can provide access when needed, secure pets, and tell us about relevant safety concerns or restricted areas. If you need to cancel or move a visit, contact us as soon as possible using the details at the end of these terms.

Any cancellation charge or other visit-specific condition will be disclosed in your written estimate or service agreement before it applies.

Our estimate covers only the work described in it. If inspection findings or your request would change the pest, treatment area, method, or amount of work, we will explain the proposed change and any price adjustment before proceeding.

We will not perform extra work without your approval. If weather, access, or another condition prevents safe or appropriate service, we may contact you to arrange a new appointment. A rescheduled visit does not change the agreed scope unless you approve a change.

Written Estimates and Payment Terms

We provide an estimate based on the information available and the work described, such as the pest concern, areas to be treated, and access conditions. The estimate or service agreement will identify the included work and any known exclusions.

If an inspection reveals conditions that could change the scope or cost, we will explain the revision and request your approval before doing the added work. An estimate is not authorization for services beyond its written description.

Payment timing and accepted payment methods will be stated in your estimate, invoice, or service agreement. Unless a different arrangement is stated there, payment is due upon completion of the authorized service.

Please raise billing questions promptly and include the invoice or appointment details so we can review them. We do not promise a particular pest outcome based solely on an estimate or payment.

Any recurring service, deposit, cancellation charge, or other payment condition must be disclosed in writing before you agree to it. No price or financing term is created by these general terms alone.

Written Warranty and Service Follow-Up

Maine Pest Solutions does not create a general workmanship warranty or guarantee a particular pest outcome through these terms alone. If a service includes a warranty, retreatment period, or follow-up visit, its written estimate or service agreement will describe what is covered, how long coverage lasts, and how to request service. The written document controls those specific terms; coverage may differ by pest, treatment, property conditions, and service plan.

A warranty may depend on following preparation and safety instructions, allowing access for any included follow-up, and addressing conditions identified in the agreement. Changes to the property, new pest activity, untreated areas, or work by another provider may fall outside the stated coverage.

We will explain any applicable limits in writing rather than imply that every service carries the same duration or remedy. Nothing in this section removes rights that cannot legally be waived.

Contact us with your service date and agreement if you believe a written warranty applies, and we will review its terms with you.

Responsibility for Service-Related Losses

To the extent permitted by law, Maine Pest Solutions’ responsibility for a claim arising from a specific service is limited to the amount paid for that service. This limit does not apply where prohibited by law, or to liability that cannot legally be limited.

We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, concealed conditions, structural defects, or loss caused by circumstances outside the work we agreed to perform. You remain responsible for sharing relevant information about the property and following written preparation and safety instructions.

These terms do not excuse compliance with pesticide laws or applicable safety duties. We follow pesticide label requirements under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act, Maine’s Pesticide Control Act, 22 M.R.S. chapter 258-A, applicator licensing rules in 22 M.R.S.

§ 1471-D, and Maine Board of Pesticides Control Rules, Chapter 10. Container and waste handling follows applicable Maine guidance and law; Resource Conservation and Recovery Act hazardous-waste rules apply only when the material and circumstances meet those requirements. Nothing here limits a regulator’s authority or your rights under applicable law.

Questions About These Service Terms

For questions about these terms, an estimate, or an appointment, contact Maine Pest Solutions at (877) 729-2528 or info@mainepestsolutions.top. You may also write to One City Center, 1 Canal Plaza, Portland, ME.

Include your name, service address, and relevant appointment or invoice details so we can direct your question to the right person. Do not email sensitive payment information.

We may update these terms when our practices or applicable requirements change. The current version will be posted with the terms on our website, and we may also notify you by email or another contact method on file when an update materially affects an ongoing service arrangement.

Changes apply prospectively unless the notice or law requires otherwise. A signed service agreement or estimate may contain terms specific to your work; those written terms govern that service if they conflict with these general terms.

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

Service Expert at Maine Pest Solutions

I built my pest-control trade in Portland, where older homes, stone foundations, and coastal dampness can create persistent entry points for ants and rodents. I started this company to give Maine homeowners clear treatment plans that account for local buildings and the seasonal shifts that bring pests indoors.
